WORKING BEES

Our working bee’s are held every second Sunday of the month.

No prior experience necessary!

Meet at the Managers Office near the car park from 9.30am -12pm. We are flexible, and understand everyone has commitments, appreciate any time you can support whether it’s an hour or 2, your help really makes a difference to this our wonderful forest for generations to come. Just look out for one of our lovely volunteers in a bright yellow vest on the day if you arrive later.

Bring water, wear enclosed shoes, hat, and a pair of gloves. If you have any gardening tools, please make sure you label them. If you don’t have any of these, not to worry we can lend you some tools on the day.

BLACKWOOD CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

Each year we run our Sausage Sizzle in Waite Reserve in association with the Blackwood Christmas Pageant held on the first Friday in December from 6pm. Come and say hi and have a sausage. All proceeds go to our conservation work in the park!

 

THE MANAGERS OFFICE RESTORATION

Regular visitors to the Park will remember our multi-year project to restore the Managers office. In 2017 the building was re-roofed to heritage standards. In 2018-19 members sourced second hand flooring boards, installed, sanded and sealed them (as the office had no flooring) and painted walls and ceiling in suitable heritage colours. Throughout 2020 we fixed painted skirting boards than sand and painted the windows, concluding the restoration works. We think it looks great!
