OFF -LEASH DOG WALKING

Blackwood Forest is a prime location for off-leash dog walking in South Australia. This is a significant advantage for dog walkers looking for safe and responsible ways to exercise their dogs.

The park is pine forest and part open land with new natives recently planted in 2025/2026. It features fencing and gates with various walking trails available, offering different experiences for dogs and their owners. 

Please keep dogs under effective control at all times and be mindful of native wildlife. Waste bags are provided by the parking lot entrance on the corner of Turners Rd and Main Rd. We ask that owners please dispose of waste in designated bins at the car park entrance. Best to bring your own water for your dogs, especially on those warmer days.

A free permit is required by contacting National Parks and Wildlife Service SA Park Ranger on  8278 5477) or email to DEW.AMLRBlackHillOffice@sa.gov.au  to ensure there are no other events being held on the day.
