Volunteering

We warmly welcome all members of the community to our monthly Working Bees no experience necessary. These are held on the 2nd Sunday of every month from 9.30am-12pm (weather permitting) – a great way to get involved, meet other members, and see the impact of your contribution first hand. There is no obligation to sign up to membership when you first volunteer, if you wish to just volunteer when you can and try that for a couple of weeks before becoming a member. 

Here is some information on how you can become a member below.

Membership

Membership fee (Annually)  $10 individual or $15 for the family

This contribution will goes back into the park, with things like fuel for our lawnmowers, tools and materials that we require to maintain the forest.

Active Friends of Blackwood Forest members receive:

• Discounts on National Parks entry and camping fees (After completing 40 hours of volunteering as per Parks SA policy)
• Opportunities for training in bushcare and conservation
• The satisfaction of contributing to the local environment and community
• The chance to help protect and maintain the forest for future generations to enjoy
• Join a friendly local community with like minded locals
• No skills required, just enthusiasm!!

If you would like to join as a member here are the Steps

Step 1 : Pay by Bank Transfer

Transfer your fee to the account below. In the reference field, enter your own name (not “Friends of Blackwood Forest”). Bank statement can cut off long references so your name is the only way we can identify your payment.
